Dignity and Health for Students: Building School Toilets – Tamale, Ghana

About This Project

This project aims to construct a KVIP toilet facility for the Dodo community school to provide students and staff with safe, hygienic, and accessible sanitation. Many schools in underserved communities lack proper toilet facilities, forcing children to use unsafe and unsanitary alternatives. This situation not only affects the health and dignity of students but also disrupts their learning environment.

By building a KVIP toilet facility, the project will significantly improve sanitation and promote better hygiene practices among students. Access to clean and safe toilets helps reduce the spread of diseases, creates a more comfortable school environment, and encourages regular school attendance—especially for young girls who often face greater challenges when adequate sanitation is not available.

This initiative will support the overall well-being of the school community by ensuring that students can learn in a healthier and more dignified environment. With improved sanitation facilities, the school will be better equipped to provide a safe and supportive place for children to focus on their education and build a brighter future.
